Description
Do Son as visualized by Bas Meeuws
A gentle sea breeze seems to waft over this bouquet of white flowers. Perched on their long stalks, some of the tuberoses are still at the budding stage while others have just bloomed, showing that their sensuous fragrances and spices have retained the freshness of the dawn. A miniature junk, like a child’s toy, and a couple of shellfish call to mind the genesis of Do Son: a story of childhood memories of Along Bay in Indochina, lulled by the heady scents of tuberoses.
Bas Meeuws
Bas Meeuws was born in Heerlen in the Netherlands. He defines himself as a digital floral artist. Styling himself after the great Flemish still life painters, he uses his camera to capture the beauty and grace of flowers, the delicacy of their lines and colors. Then he arranges them into impossible bouquets, liberated from flowering times and seasons, each creation becoming a sublimation of nature.
